Wednesday, September 3rd - 5:30pm to 8pm - Whitehall Gig Public Walk Up Rowing - Join us for East River Crew’s community walk up ROWING at the Anable Basin LICCB dock, 45-21 5th street, Long Island City, NY. This event provides the opportunity to learn to row our Whitehall gigs around the basin on a first come basis.  All experience levels are welcome! No sign up needed, just show up to participate. Come early, this event is first come first serve.

Saturday September 6th - 7:20pm to 8:20am - Overnight Circumnavigation of Manhattan Island
You asked for it, you got it! This epic kayak voyage certainly isn't for everyone. At minimum, you'll need sufficient experience, excellent boat control skills and the strength and stamina to go the distance. Please note that signing up is your first step and DOES NOT guarantee you a spot on this trip. Acceptance will be determined by LICCB trip leaders. Volunteers who have been most helpful in running our public programs will have priority. This 30 mile journey will last about 11 hours which includes plenty of rest stops. Some of the breaks will be on water while rafting in moving current to gain some free mileage. Show up time will be sunset on Saturday (7:20pm) with a walk away time of 8:20 Sunday morning. The 13 hour window includes check in, setup and wrap up. Most paddlers will be paired up in our faster, more comfortable Zest 2exp kayaks. Please sign up here before Friday to be considered for this event. Each person must sign up separately.

Thursday, September 11th, a special rooftop "Thank You" BBQ for volunteers and their guests. The location is a few blocks from the boathouse!  You are welcome to attend if and only if you have volunteered with us at least three times this year. Sign Up here to learn the secret location. RSVP required so we'll have adequate provisions. Food and drink will be supplied so no need to bring anything unless you are have particular requirements. Please RSVP here so we know who is joining us!

Friday, September 12th, 6pm to 9pm - Socrates Sculpture Parks’ Party in the Park. Buy tickets or volunteer here for this fun neighborhood event at Socrates Sculpture Park!

Saturday September 13th - 9:30am to 6:30pm -  East River Paddle to Francis Lewis Park (and back). This trip is 9 miles each way but has tidal current assist both going out and coming back. We'll pass through Hell Gate, the Brother Islands, LGA airport and under five East River bridges. Enjoy a BYO lunch at the park before returning with the ebb tide. There will be one break in each direction at Barretto Point Park. Please note that signing up is your first step and DOES NOT guarantee you a spot on this trip. Acceptance will be determined by LICCB trip leaders. Volunteers who have been most helpful in running our public programs will have priority. Frequent helpful volunteers may invite a guest for this paddle. A few spots will be available to "pull an oar" in one of the big rowboats for a higher, drier ride.

Sunday, September 14th - 2pm to 6pm - Anable Basin Free Community Walkup Kayaking
1pm - volunteer show up time
Meet us at LICCB’s Anable Basin Dock at 5th Street and North Basin Road. No sign up, just show up to participate. Our dock is ready to go but our ramp has not yet been restored.  We access the floating dock via a ladder.  Adults (18 and over) only until the ramp has been installed.

Wednesday, September 17th  - Hunters Point Conservancy Waterfront Gala - All of the proceeds from the gala go towards park programming and advocacy work, allowing the conservancy to offer over 200 free programs to the community every year while supporting our waterfront green spaces. It's a fun night and a great way to support Hunters Point Conservancy! Buy tickets and view auction items here

Friday, October 17th to Sunday October 19th - Open House New York with LIC Boathouse and East River Crew - SAVE the DATES!
